Group Therapy
Groups are helpful from both a therapeutic and an educational basis. They provide individuals with a forum whereby they can gain support from others under the guidance of a trained and empathetic counselor. Some groups can help people to become more aware of who they are and how their behavior might be affecting others which might facilitate changes in the way that they think, feel and behave.
Educational groups provide individuals with tools and techniques that they can use in certain life situations, such as addiction, separation/divorce or parenting. One of the benefits of the group process is that individuals provide support and feedback to one another. This often helps to instill hope while helping the individuals realize that they are not alone.
