The major focus of our work together is to identify and understand your difficulties and explore effective coping strategies which will enable and empower you to reach your potential, achieve more satisfaction, and improve your quality of life. The first step in individual counselling is to ensure that you feel fully understood and supported. After this preliminary stage,work will be done with you to build in your strengths and skills to find solutions, make decisions, and to develop more effective coping strategies. Individuals do not live in a vacuum; therefore emphasis is put on a holistic approach which includes physical, psychological, cognitive, emotional and social needs.
Strategies and Models that I have been trained in are: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Narrative Therapy; Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered, Adlerian Therapy, Attachment-Based, Emotionally Focused, Family and Marital Therapy.
